The 5th grade has fun with science!

This week in science, fifth grade is focusing on classifying living things! Because our focus over the next two and a half months will be on life sciences, each member of the fifth grade community is taking great care to observe and name things in the environment which are alive. Later in the fall we hope to integrate our learning with our understanding of ecosystems acquired last spring. Then, we will apply our new knowledge to the descriptions of living things near the ocean described in our read aloud book, Island of the Blue Dolphins. It's a lot of learning, but we're having a blast!

With love,

The 5th grade class

Changes Around the School

Our students noticed a few changes around our school as they entered the building this week. Over the summer we moved classrooms, and also added some new members to our faculty.

Here is a list of changes that occurred...

  • We welcomed Ms. Cronan to 4th grade, Mr. Sheehan to 5th grade, and Ms. Navarro to Middle School Language Arts.
  • We moved our Computer Room and Music class to the basement level. This put all of our elective classes on the same floor.
  • Our 4th grade classroom moved up to the 1st floor, and our 5th grade classroom moved up to the 2nd floor.
  • We have a new Faculty Resource Room on the 1st floor, with the old lounge becoming a small classroom/study space.
We invite you to stop in and see some of our changes!

Our New Website.

Dear Students, Parents, Faculty, and Visitors,

Welcome to our school's new website - Annunciationk8.org!  We hope that this new website will become a place that you will visit often to stay current with the school.  Here are just a few things that you can do on our new website...

  • Check the school's calendar and sports' calendar.
  • See pictures of your students in our photo albums.
  • Read our Blog to find out more about what is going on in our school.
  • Connect to Annunciation's Facebook page and Sycamore Education portal.
  • Connect to Annunciation Church's website.
  • Learn more about the programs that Annunciation offers to students, parents, and families.
  • Discover new ways that you can support and get involved in our school community.
We encourage you to explore the site and get familiar with its features - even make it your homepage on your internet browser!  We hope that it will help you learn more about our school and stay current with what we are up to.

Please note that there are still some areas of the site that are under construction, but we hope to have all pages up-to-date in the next week or so.  Also be aware that our new site runs best on more updated internet browsers.

Thank you for visiting Annunciation Catholic School's new website: Annunciationk8.org   We hope that you will be back soon.
